About Watercolours

The history of watercolour painting stretches back as far as the first stone age European cave paintings.  It is immensely popular and versatile.  The caves at Aurignac at Haute-Garonne hold the aforementioned original watercolours although their resemblance to anything modern could be called marginal at best.  However watercolours they were so that’s where we all started.


As admirers of this medium we are attempting not only to assemble a list of profiles of the foremost proponents of this art, but also to piece together the history and development of this style of painting from it’s very rudimentary origins.
We’ll include some watercolour tips and ideas and which styles our featured artists used in the creation of their masterpieces.
